What you will do as a Permit Coordinator
- Review, prepare, submit, and receive permit application packages in compliance with jurisdictional requirements, ensuring the application process runs smoothly throughout its lifecycle. This includes interconnection, rebate, and other applications as directed by leadership.
- Coordinate payment processes, communicate with internal teams to facilitate jurisdictional comments and revisions, and record corrections. Update databases to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
- Ensure high-quality submissions by staying up to date with all solar submission processes and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements, striving for high approval rates.
- Adhere to schedules and deadlines as outlined by leadership, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Maintain professionalism and responsiveness in both workplace and online communications.
- Actively participate in weekly meetings (1x1’s and team huddles), contributing to discussions through thoughtful questions and feedback.
- Educational Background: College-level education preferred, High School Graduate or College Undergraduate Graduate may be considered if accompanied by strong qualifications and relevant experience.
- Proven work experience as a Solar Project Coordinator for a U.S. company or in a similar role demonstrating expertise in managing solar projects from initiation to completion.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in permit applications for Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) in California. Additional experience in Texas and Florida is a plus.
- The ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans, ensuring clarity and efficient execution of projects.
- Solid organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and effectively manage time in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Strong client-facing skills and ability to work effectively within a team, demonstrating clear communication and positive interpersonal relationships with all stakeholders.
- Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance principles, ensuring that projects meet both industry standards and internal quality controls.
- Hands-on experience with project management tools, such as CRMs or similar software, to track project milestones, tasks, and deadlines.
