Job Summary:
The Tax & Compliance Officer – Financial Planning is responsible for handling tax compliance, regulatory filings, and audit coordination with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). The role also supports Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) activities, including revenue, cost of labor, and workforce forecasting. This position requires strong attention to detail, regulatory knowledge, and analytical skills to ensure compliance and support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Regulatory Filings
- Serve as the primary staff responsible for VAT refund applications, including preparation, documentation, and coordination with relevant authorities.
- Prepare and file all required tax returns and reports with the BIR, including but not limited to VAT, withholding tax returns and corresponding quarterly attachments.
- Monitor and implement updates on tax laws, regulations, and BIR issuances, ensuring timely compliance and proper internal communication of changes.
- Act as the main point of contact during BIR audits, including preparation of schedules, supporting documents, and responses to audit queries.
- Prepare and submit Annual Information Returns and other statutory reports required by the BIR.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized documentation of all tax-related filings, submissions, applications, and correspondences.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Support
- Serve as the primary staff supporting Financial Planning and Analysis activities
- Prepare revenue forecasts based on historical performance, trends, and business assumptions.
- Prepare cost of labor forecasts, including analysis of headcount movements, compensation changes, and related impacts.
- Prepare workforce forecasts in coordination with Operations, HR, and Management, ensuring alignment with business plans.
- Assist in variance analysis between actual results and forecasts and provide explanations for significant movements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
- At least 3–4 years of relevant experience in tax compliance, accounting, or financial analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of Philippine tax laws and BIR requirements.
- Experience in handling BIR audits and VAT refund applications is an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools; experience with planning or forecasting systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
